Whole Wheat Pizza Crust
quick and easy

 

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 pkg. or 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast

¾ teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water

1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

1 teaspoon honey


Pour flour into a large mixing bowl.  Add yeast and salt. Mix well. Add water, oil and honey; mix well. Cover with a moist cloth and place in a warm spot for 10 minutes to rise.

Punch down and press into a greased 14” pizza pan. Spread sauce and other ingredients on pizza crust. Bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.

Mini Pizza

1 Whole Wheat Pita

Olive Oil

2 Tablespoons Pasta Sauce

1 teaspoon chopped fresh garlic

2 - 3 Tablespoons Low-Fat Mozzarella Cheese

  * Your choice of toppings - any combination:

  • sliced mushrooms
  • chopped peppers
  • broccoli flowerets
  • pineapple
  • baby spinach

Spray the pita lightly with olive oil. Spread pasta sauce evenly over the pita. Sprinkle the garlic and mozzarella over the sauce. Top with your choice of healthy toppings.

Bake in 400° oven for 6 - 8 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

**A toaster oven works great for this**
