If you Google the word "Diet" you will find 37,400,000  results. With all that information out there, why is anyone overweight?

Atkins, South Beach, Ornish, eDiets, The Zone, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, SlimFast, Richard Simmons, Tops, Body For Life. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

How many have you tried? How many have worked? Permanently worked? I'm guessing if any of them had permanently worked you wouldn't be reading this now.

You know how it goes. You hear or read about a new diet, it promises quick, easy weight loss. You don't have to deprive yourself of anything, you don't have to exercise. Just eat this perfect combination of foods, or just eliminate this one type of food, or maybe just take a pill. It's just a scam, all of it.

Think about this statistic: This year over 55 million Americans will go on some type of diet. Only 5%-10% of them will succeed. The weight loss industry takes in approximately $40 Billion in revenue each year. Yes...that's BILLION with a B. It's estimated that it will be $48 Billion in 2006. How much of your money are you going to give these scam artists this year?

The Federal Trade Commission reviewed more than 300 weight loss ads from radio, television, magazines and newspapers during 2001-2002 and found that 55% of those ads contained outright lies.

Fad diets don't work. If any one of them truly worked, there wouldn't be any need for another one.

Let's be realistic. You can't solve years of overeating overnight. You have to cut your calories, exercise and you have to keep at it. How do you get to play the piano? You practice! It's the same for permanent weight loss. You practice and practice healthy eating and sticking with an exercise plan until you get it right.
